A year in development but worth the wait, this
brake kit fits 1990 through 2000 Miatas (does not fit later factory
"big brake" Miatas). Good-Win Racing looked at everything else on
the market then made the best big brake kit for the Miata.
They
have developed a four-wheel brake solution with Wilwood forged calipers
in front and billet mounting brackets and hats for all four corners
in a balanced setup of 11" front and 10 3/4" reardiscs.
The rotors are standard Wilwood part numbers available anywhere
in the country for easy sourcing of replacement parts. The front
kit includes rotors and hats, billet aluminum mounting brackets,
forged Wilwood billet 4-piston calipers, stainless steel brake lines,
and all hardware. Rear kit includes rotors and hats, and billet
aluminum caliper brackets to relocate the OEM caliper to fit our
10 3/4" two piece rotor assembly.
The
stock rear calipers are retained in order to maintain parking brake
functionality. Unlike other kits using solid rotors, this kit weighs
less than the original factory brakes, saving about five pounds
of unsprung weight per corner in the front, a pound per corner in
the rear, while providing tremendous and more consistent stopping
power...without fade.
Moreover, we spaced everything as far inboard
as possible so that the kit works with most popular wheels, even
factory 15" wheels (but not Panasports in 15" or 16"
or 15" Enkei RP-F1). In our setup the caliper's outer edge
is only 1/2 inch outboard from the wheel mounting surface in an
arch from 3.5" to 6" from center.
Our track setup comes with standard vented front
rotors and solid rears. For those who want the looks, we have a
street setup with polished caliper and slotted and drilled rotors.
Calipers and pads and rotors are all standard Wilwood parts for
easy replacement everywhere (over 150 pad compounds available in
the Wilwood configuration!).
