Replacing
the small Mazdaspeed Miata intercooler with the all new
TDR, larger more efficient, intercooler will help your MSM
produce more power at stock boost levels and beyond. This
intercooler produces lower intake temperatures which allow
the Mazdaspeed's ECU to be a more aggressive with timing
and making more power at stock levels. (See the
dyno chart below).
The new TDR MSM intercooler will
also be beneficial when you turn up the boost (up to 9.5
psi with stock ECU). The intercooler will even be more beneficial
when the boost is turned up beyond what the factory ECU
can handle, this is when intake heat dramatically increases
and the intercooler will truly perform.
TDR's
intercooler core measures 16" x 8" x 3" compared to the
stock one is 8.5" x 8.5" x 2.5" - which is two times the
volume of the OEM intercooler and less restrictive. The
TDR kit completely replaces all the undersized Mazdaspeed
OEM piping by using the same stainless steel pipes found
on all our intercooler kits. These pipes have fewer bends,
shorter path and larger diameter that help make the TDR
intercooler one of the most efficient intercooler available
for your Mazdaspeed.
The TDR MSM Intercooler kit also
comes with a high-performance intake using a 2 1/2"
turbo inlet pipe, large K&N air filter and a upgraded
inverter valve. This intake was designed to replace the
restrictive stock Mazdaspeed factory intake.
This kit is safe for use with a
stock ECU at stock boost levels. The TDR's MSM intercooler
kit will help improve spoolup, increase power and is a good
foundation for further modifications. We logged a 36.57
HP gain on a customer's car with just increasing the boost
level to 9.5 psi using an after market manual boost controller
while using the stock ECU and maintain proper air/fuel ratios
throughout the dyno runs. And by adding an after market
down pipe/exhaust system with a piggyback ECU you could
potentially add another 20-30 RWHP easily.

on the new MSM intercooler and when a delivery date is expected.
